One of the best things about the internet is RSS. I’ve talked about RSS feeds before, but they’re basically a way to get notified that a web page has been updated. For example, you can subscribe to the RSS feed for this blog by entering your email address here, or by clicking on this link.
But what if you want to be notified that a web page without an RSS feed has been updated…without having to check it over and over again?
The answer to that dilemma is to use a tool like page2rss.
For example, let’s say that you want to know when Beth Moore is having her next Houston Bible study. You could check her website periodically, or you could copy the address of her website’s Houston Connection web page into the page2rss website and click the button to the right.
After clicking the “to RSS” button, you’ll be given a page that allows you to subscribe to the new RSS feed.
I add my subscription to the new feed to Google Reader, which is how I read all of my blogs. Now I will be automatically updated when there’s a change to the web page!
